‘Cañas y Tapas’, The Spanish Franchise Restaurant, Wine Bar & Café was launched on 1st of September 2011, in St George’s Bay St Julian’s replacing the former Fuego Salsa Bar. Local company Entertainments Ltd, owners of Fuego, Pizza Factory and the Hot Sausage Company, developed the franchise locally with an investment of 1million euro , after formally acquiring this award winning concept earlier this year from Zena Group, the multi-brand leader of the restaurant industry in Spain. Zena Group own over 500 restaurants which include Burger King, Dominos Pizza, Fosters Hollywood and of course ‘Cañas y Tapas’.
This 1940’s themed casual diner boasts over 70 top quality, traditional Spanish dishes to choose from, including a range of tapas offering excellent value for money both in food and drink. ‘Cañas y Tapas’ promotes a taste of authenticity and quality from the traditional taverns and restores the original customs of Spanish bars from the turn of the century. The ‘Cañas y Tapas’ design lends itself to a wine bar, with particular mood lighting, a wine wall with an array of over 125 wines.
At Canas Y Tapas you can also enjoy all the tapas of Spain: Iberian meats and cheeses, calamari with Andalusian squid à la plancha, national dishes such as Gazpacho, Paella or Tortilla or specialties such as “Huevos rotos con patatas“ fried eggs and potatoes.
The Cocktail menu is no ordinary one, offering fashionable and unusual mixes with a culinary style of progressive cocktail trends, which include freshly squeezed fruit as well as vegetable cocktails.
At ‘Cañas y Tapas’ we offer a truly authentic experience from breakfast , starting at 8 . 30 am , through to dinner and have stuck to the traditional Spanish custom of offering complimentary appetisers with every cold drink!
